Beef burger recipe

The traditional hamburger is a BBQ staple! This very simple handmade beef burger recipe yields mouthwatering patties that are ideal for topping with cheese, lettuce, and tomato and sandwiching between fluffy buns. The patties are filled with onions and herbs for added taste.

Ingredients

Olive oil, 1/2 tbsp

1 peeled and coarsely chopped onion

1 500 g of 15% fat beef mince

1 teaspoon of dried mixed herbs

1 beaten egg

4 mature Cheddar slices, optional

4 paper towels

a few broken, spherical lettuce leaves

1 sliced beef tomato

Serve ketchup if desired.

Method

In a frying pan with the olive oil hot, add the onion and cook for 5 minutes, or until it softens and begins to become golden. Place aside.

Combine the egg, herbs, and beef mince in a bowl. Season, then include the onions. Form into four patties with your hands.

The burgers should be cooked for 5 to 6 minutes on each side on a hot grill or griddle. Place a slice of cheese (if using) on top to melt while the second side cooks.

In the meantime, grill the buns' sliced sides just a little bit. Add lettuce, hamburgers, and tomato slices to the container. If desired, serve with ketchup.
