How to make chow mein

 BEST CHOW MEIN

You probably already consider chicken chow mein to be one of your favourite Chinese takeaway recipes. With chicken, vegetables, traditional chow mein noodles, and the greatest homemade chow mein sauce, this one-pan dish is incredibly filling. Additionally, it is far healthier than getting takeaway.

Chow Mein with Chicken

Traditional Chinese food known as chow mein is made with egg noodles and stir-fried vegetables. Our favourite protein to include is chicken, but you can also use tofu or another type of meat. The noodles in this meal are pan-fried to give them a beautiful crisp, and then they are combined with a delicious sauce.

Ingredients;

1 lb. of skinless, boneless chicken breast

3 tbsp oil

12 ounces of uncooked chow mein noodles

2 cups cabbage

1 big, julienned carrot

Green onions, half a batch

Garlic cloves, two

Sauce for Chow Mein

1 cup oyster sauce

Low-sodium soy sauce, 3 tablespoons

3.5 tablespoons of mild sesame oil, untoasted

50 ml of chicken broth

1 tbsp cornstarch

1 tablespoon sugar, granulated

Instructions;

Oyster sauce, granulated sugar, sesame oil, soy sauce, chicken broth, and cornflour should all be combined in a small mixing dish using a whisk. Place aside.

Noodles should be prepared per the directions on the package, drained, rinsed under cold water, and then set aside.

Over medium heat, add olive oil to a big wok or pan. Chicken breasts should be cut into bite-sized strips and cooked in oil until browned. Discard the strips after removal.

Sauté for a few minutes, until vegetables are slightly softened and the cabbage is beginning to become translucent. Add the carrots, cabbage, and crushed garlic.

Re-add the chicken and the noodles to the pan. After the sauce has been added, simmer the mixture for an additional 2 minutes.

Serve your chow mein hot off the pan with green onions that have been finely sliced as a garnish!
