Cheesy fries

My favourite comfort foods of all time is cheese fries. They are quite simple to make and always go quickly after being served. They are made with frozen French fries, garlic, cheddar cheese, a little flour, and some fridge essentials like butter and milk. Who wouldn't want to eat delicious, crispy potatoes coated in homemade cheese sauce.

Ingredients;

Frozen French fries weighing 1 pound

18 stick (1 tablespoon) of unsalted butter

2 cloves garlic minced

one teaspoon of all-purpose flour

3/4 cup whole milk

freshly grated six ounces of medium cheddar cheese

1/8 teaspoon of ground cayenne

To taste, add freshly ground black pepper and kosher salt.

Choice of Toppings;

green onion, thinly sliced

Jalapenos, cut into dice

Instructions

Follow the instructions on the package for baking the fries.

Frozen French fries weighing 1 pound

Butter should be melted in a medium skillet over medium heat while the fries bake. Garlic is added and cooked until just beginning to turn golden.

2 cloves of garlic, 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter

Sprinkle the flour on top and heat while whisking continually until all of the flour has been absorbed by the butter.

one teaspoon of all-purpose flour

Pour the milk in gradually while whisking, being sure to break up any lumps right away.

3/4 cup whole milk

For around 3 to 4 minutes, whisk continuously as the sauce simmers and thickens. Take it off the heat.

Add the cheese to the sauce a handful at a time. Before adding another handful, stir the cheese until it is thoroughly melted. Continue stirring the sauce and melting the cheese until they are both smooth.

Medium cheddar cheese, weighing 6 ounces

Add cayenne, salt, and pepper to taste after whisking.

 salt, freshly ground black pepper, and 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Fries should be arranged on a serving tray. If desired, add the cheese sauce and garnishes on top. Serve right away and delight in!
